Delaware North Australia is hiring a full-time Assistant Manager of Marine and Activities to join our team at Lizard Island Resort. As Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all land and water-based activities while overseeing and coordinating tourism activities.

What you will do?

  • Assist with guest activity bookings, daily logistics, and ensure smooth coordination of arrivals, departures, and scheduled experiences
  • Monitor guest feedback and proactively address service gaps or concerns, escalating issues to management when required
  • Support rostering, staff allocation, and recruitment efforts, including training and performance feedback for team members
  • Maintain inventory systems and ensure tools and equipment are safe, functional, and compliant with regulations
  • Provide administrative support for projects, uphold OH&S practices, and ensure adherence to company policies and financial accuracy

More about you

  • Bachelor's degree in tourism, hospitality, marine science, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, managing activities in a hospitality or tourism setting  
  • Strong leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of marine and tourism activities, including safety regulations and protocols 
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a strong focus on customer service 
  • Certification in relevant marine and tourism activities, such as PADI Dive Master or Instructor, Coxswain Grade 1 or higher, First Aid and CPR, Manuel Drivers Licence, and other relevant certifications
