Delaware North Australia is hiring a full-time Maintenance Manager Chief Engineer to join our team at Lizard Island Resort. As a Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing resort maintenance, including management of team members and subcontractors.

• Coordinate and supervise maintenance and gardening teams, ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety regulations while enhancing operational efficiency and minimising costs through preventative maintenance programs 
• Develop and implement new methods and procedures to improve operations, including training team members on company policies and performance expectations 
• Oversee equipment requisitioning and review departmental reports to adjust maintenance activities and plan for new product needs, ensuring alignment with operational and budgetary goals 
• Negotiate and manage relationships with external contractors for maintenance, gardening, and cleaning services, while providing guidance to management on property service issues and regulatory compliance 
• Establish and monitor maintenance reporting systems, ensuring timely completion of major projects, guest satisfaction, and continual improvement through effective feedback mechanisms 

• A trade certificate with demonstrated leadership or business management experience 
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in related field  
• A proven background in effectively working with key internal and external stakeholders across the business and industry sector  
• Any additional licenses to perform inherent requirements of the role and location  
• Site security clearance where applicable
