Delaware North Australia is hiring a full-time Accountant to join our team at Melbourne Airport. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting with the processing of weekly revenue including projections, forecasts, budgets and flash reports. • Ensure all financial reporting and accounting practices are completed accurately, in a timely manner and in compliance with Delaware North policy and legislation
• Assist inmanaging capital expenditure and the annual budget including accountability for internal and external audit results pertaining to the sites financial functions
• Ensure management of performance and develop an engaged workforce through training coaching of team members
• Produce weekly and monthly analysis of the business’ financial performance against forecast and plan including variance analysis and department controllable and non-controllable expenses.
• Analyse general ledger accounts as required and establish weaknesses in operations according to results
• Ensure service standards are demonstrated when dealing with all team members i.e. employees, client/internal customers, external customers and suppliers/ contractors
• Collection and reconciliation of Debtors
• Assist in formulating budgetary and accounting policies
• Prepare financial statements for presentation to boards of directors, management, shareholders, and governing and statutory bodies
• Conduct financial investigations, preparing reports, undertaking audits and advising on matters such as the purchase and sale of businesses, mergers, capital financing, suspected fraud, insolvency and taxation
• Examine operating costs and organisations' income and expenditure
• Provide assurance about the accuracy of information contained in financial reports and their compliance with statutory requirements
• Assist in maintaining internal control systems

• A degree in accounting or finance and possess either a CPA or CA  
• Minimum of 2 years of experience for a large multi-function business and can confidently report profit and loss analysis whilst maintaining the responsibility for multi-million-dollar contracts 
• Display a background in driving revenue growth and improving profitability in new and mature business segments 
• Demonstrated experience in contract interpretation and execution, and knowledge regarding relevant legislative regulations, codes of practice, and industry standards 
• Can provide a National Police Check (less than 6 months old)

Salary on Offer

Competative salary ranging from $75,000 to $78,500
