Culinary Opportunities, Parklands Café

Delaware North Australia is looking for passionate and dedicated Commis Chefs and Kitchen Stewards to join our team on a casual basis at Parklands Café, Blacktown. If you enjoy working in a supportive kitchen environment and being part of a great team, we’d love to hear from you!

Commis Chef:

• Assist in food preparation and cooking to maintain high-quality standards.
• Ensure consistency in presentation and portion control.
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Assist with stock rotation and kitchen inventory management.
• Support the Head Chef and kitchen team as needed.

Kitchen Steward:

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment efficiently.
• Assist with waste management and disposal.
• Support kitchen staff with basic food prep when required.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and workplace health standards.

Commis Chef:

• Experience as a Commis Chef.
• Minimum Certificate III Commercial Cookery Qualification.
• Solid background in kitchen operations.
• A passion for food and creative flair.
• Comfortable and skilled to be left alone in a kitchen.
• Demonstrated track record meeting financial targets for food and labor costs.
• Flexible with shifts, available to work mornings, days, and nights, including weekends.

Kitchen Steward:

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Steward/Attendant is desirable.
• Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain during onboarding.
• Strong communication skills.
• Enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible with shifts, available to work mornings, days, and nights, including weekends.
